The Adjustable Sophy® Mini valve is a high-precision device of unparalleled simplicity.
The principle of the Sophy® valve resides in the variation in pressure exerted on a ball by a semi-circular spring at various points along its circumference. The spring is attached to a magnetic rotor which position can be non-invasively changed using an adjustment magnet. A series of indentations allows a variety of positions to be selected, each position representing a different pressure setting.
Focus on the Direct Pressure Reading (optional X-Ray control):
The use of the Sophy® dedicated adjustment kit allows direct reading of the valve pressure with a compass, which needle aligns with the magnetic rotor.
However, if necessary, the X-Ray reading of the 8 positions of the Sophy® valve SM8 is easily done by comparing the orientation of the rotor with the radiopaque dots position:
Low Pressure = 1 dot, Medium Pressure = 2 dots and High Pressure = 3 dots
Focus on the Unique Special Pressure Range:
In addition to the standard model (30-200 mmH2O), Sophy® also offers a unique special pressure range: one low pressure valve (10-140 mmH2O) and two high pressure valves (50-300 and 80-400 mmH2O). Thus a choice is provided, depending on the experience of the practitioner, to meet very specific clinical needs.
